Catawba Regional Hospice celebrated the fifth anniversary of its Sherrills Ford Hospice House with a community event on October 27, 2016.
The specialized facility, which provides care to hospice patients when their symptoms cannot be managed at home, is available when round-the-clock attention is needed. Otherwise, Catawba Regional Hospice works to keep patients where they’re most comfortable, whether that’s a private residence, assisted living facility, rehab center, hospital, or nursing home.
The fifth anniversary event featured a reception for staff, Board members, volunteers, local hospitals, medical practices, Chamber members, and other special guests. Tours of the facility introduced attendees to the hospice house’s medical capabilities and highlighted its home-like setting.
Dave Clarke, Catawba Regional Hospice’s President and CEO, thanked the community for its support of the hospice house. “Delivering exceptional hospice care to people in need has been our driving force for more than 37 years. By establishing the Sherrills Ford Hospice House five years ago, we answered the request by local folks for convenient, increasingly accessible end-of-life care, and we’re proud to serve Lake Norman with compassion and dedication.”
“We especially appreciate the community’s commitment to this organization and its mission. From volunteers to staff and beyond, we see the positive impact of bringing comfort and reassurance to patients and families. It’s a privilege to be invited into your homes and make a difference for your loved ones. We are honored to know and serve you.”
The Sherrills Ford Hospice House was established as an acute care facility for folks around Lake Norman, as well as a clinical headquarters for CRH staff serving patients in the southeastern part of the organization’s service area. It is located at 7473 Sherrills Ford Road, Sherrills Ford, NC 28673.
