Bronson Run Donation Supports Patient Care

Catawba Regional Hospice was pleased to accept a check in the amount of $7000 from the Hickory Riding Club on October 22, 2016. The money was raised from the motorcycle group’s 23rd Annual Bronson Run, which commemorates a former Hickory Riding Club member served by Catawba Regional Hospice.

Funds for the gift are generously donated by local companies, and fees for participation in the Bronson Run also contribute to the cause. At each of the stops along the route, riders draw playing cards. In the spirit of friendly competition, participants compile poker hands that they reveal following the completion of the run. Those with the best and worst hands win cash prizes. Live music, food, and camping are also part of the Bronson Run’s yearly festivities.

This year, over 300 riders participated in the Bronson Run on September 24, 2016. Their efforts and their donation allow hospice patients and their families access to care and services not covered by other means, supporting CRH’s mission to serve anyone in need of hospice care, regardless of financial status.

Among the groups who supported the Hickory Riding Club’s 23rd Annual Bronson Poker Run were Aiken-Black Tire Service, High Life Enterprises, Horsefeathers Roadhouse, John’s Tavern, Leather Miracles, Pop’s Old Company Store and Tavern, Republic Services, Ryan’s Sports Bar & Grill, and Side Pocket Lounge.
