Catawba Regional Hospice Observes National Hospice Month

Catawba Regional Hospice, in observance of National Hospice & Palliative Care Month, is sponsoring a slate of activities in the Unifour area. The nationwide event – whose theme for 2012 is “Comfort. Love. Respect.” – seeks to educate the public, thank partners, and increase awareness of hospice care and programs.

Among the local events scheduled are:

• Three hundred local churches have been invited to ring their bells in honor of hospice care and hospice patients at noon on Sunday, November 4.

• Proclamations announcing National Hospice & Palliative Care Month will be made in Newton, NC, and in Mooresville, NC, on November 5.

• Hospice employees will visit and place flowers at a number of local restaurants in Catawba, Iredell, Burke, Alexander, and Lincoln counties in honor of Veterans Day. Staff members will also distribute bookmarks to those who have served in the military.

• Residents will notice banners and flyers posted at local hospitals, Valley Hills Mall, and the Hospice Thrift Store. Anyone with questions is urged to contact Catawba Regional Hospice for more information about our organization, our health care services, and our hospice houses.
