Hickory Rotary Club Supports Hospice Christmas Gifts

For the fifth year, the Hickory Rotary Club partnered with Catawba Regional Hospice to provide Christmas gifts to patients. Hoping to diminish the impact of illness on holiday celebrations, dedicated Rotarians came forward to grant the wishes of those who might otherwise do without.

Donations were gathered and presented to Catawba Regional Hospice, whose employees tailored gifts to the various patients. This year, donations were transformed into food, gas cards, payments for heating bills, and other relevant items. After opening her gift, one recipient declared that she "did not expect anything this year, and what a pleasant surprise!"

Sarah Willis, volunteer coordinator at Catawba Regional Hospice, stated, "We are always deeply touched by the generosity of the Hickory Rotary Club. Their continued partnership ensures that our patients have more joyful holidays. Plus, their gifts bring peace of mind - along with welcome necessities and comfort - during especially difficult times."
