About Carolina Caring

Providing Exceptional Serious Illness Care

Families like yours often come to Carolina Caring craving simple-to-understand information about how to live with a serious illness:

  • Where do we start?

  • What can we expect?

  • How can our team help make things better?

Most often, your wishes are for a loved one’s physical comfort, peace of mind, and quality of life:

  • You want knowledgeable, encouraging people to support you along the way.

  • You long for a balanced mix of medical expertise and heartfelt compassion.

  • You yearn for confirmation that you’ve done things right and have given your loved one the best care possible at the appropriate time.

  • You expect to hear the truth about what disease can take away and look forward to discovering the relief that exceptional care can bring.

This is what we do.

Carolina Caring seeks, above all else, to honor your loved one and to provide the care and support you need. At times, that comes through medication and therapies. At other times, it’s offered through conversation and an understanding presence. You can count on us to provide comfort throughout the journey.

OVERVIEW

Carolina Caring was established as one of North Carolina’s original three hospice providers in 1979, when formalized end-of-life care was in its early stages. We began as a small group of grassroots volunteers who came together to support families in our immediate community.

Through the years, Carolina Caring has become a valued resource both locally and regionally for comprehensive serious illness care including palliative medicine services for adults and children as well as primary care for those who have debilitating medical conditions.

Thanks to our reputation for quality care and compassion, we now serve patients throughout western North Carolina. Patients, families and medical professionals throughout the region count on Carolina Caring to comfort, uplift, and care for individuals challenged by serious illness.
